Milton Keynes Selected for £40m Digital Infrastructure Project

Sector: Milton Keynes Selected for £40m Digital Infrastructure Project

MARCH 2018

Fibre optic infrastructure specialist CityFibre is to invest £40m in Milton Keynes as part of a roll-out programme with Vodafone, which hopes to tackle "digital inadequacy" across the UK.

As part of the scheme, almost every home and business in Milton Keynes will have access to a future-proofed digital network over the course of the next few years.

The strategic partnership between CityFibre and Vodafone was announced in November 2017 and could bring next generation Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) infrastructure to 12 cities.

CityFibre will start work on Milton Keynes' FTTP framework in March 2018. It will be an extension of the company's existing 160km full fibre network in the city.
